KDD Collaborates with KFAS and DDI
Dignitaries and leaders from multiple sectors were invited to a symposium featuring the science and collaboration behind a new no-added-sugar chocolate ice cream product developed by KDD. The event was hosted by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) at Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) on June 12, 2024, from 10 am to 2 pm. The results of a science and technology project initiated by KDD, funded by KFAS, and supported by DDI was presented. In a clinical trial conducted by DDI, the no-added-sugar ice cream showed significantly lowered blood glucose and insulin responses in patients with diabetes. At the event, samples of the new ice creams optimized for positive metabolic health and nutrition were shared with the audience. The 3 flavours of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla were an instant hit and the audience immediately took to social media with the news. The event was covered by all major newspapers in Kuwait, as consumers wait for the commercial launch of the ice creams by the end of June 2024.
